According to Moonalice legend, every tribe in this area had a tribal pet. Some tribes had panthers. Others had eagles. The Moonalice tribe had the Pacific Ocean. As pets go, the ocean was low maintenance. It walked itself in . . . and out . . . every day. Life went on smoothly until somebody got the idea that people had to clean up after their pets. The tribe took one look at all the flotsam and jetsam, moved up to the hills, and took up farming. The rest, as they say, is legend.
