Summer of Soul -- Featuring Lester Chambers & The Chambers Brothers -- wins Academy Award!

Summer of Soul, a documentary directed by Questlove about the Harlem Culture Festival of 1969, won the Oscar for Best Documentary. In addition to The Chambers Brothers, the documentary features Nina Simone, Moms Mabley, Steve Wonder (at age 19), Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, The Fifth Dimension, BB King and many others. Moonalice Artistic Director’s Art Goes Viral in Ukraine

Chris Shaw, who along with Alex Fischer, has been art director for Moonalice since the band started, created a series of Madonna paintings with modern touches. One of those paintings, Madonna with Kalashnikov, went viral in Ukraine during the 2014 Russian invasion. It has now been updated — to a Madonna with Javelin — and gone viral again.
