Who Was There?
According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by David Singer depicts Mary Jane “Night Train” Moonalice, a woman who rode the rails for decades, bringing quality hemp products to people in need. Her travels ended right here in Novato, when she was overcome by the sight of these two Art Deco workers slaving to rebuild the mainline. Armed with a decent stash, Night Train opened a nightclub and treated the workers to some high quality Moonalice entertainment. In retrospect, it’s clear the Night Train’s generosity paved the way for the Civil Rights Movement, Monty Python, fruit roll ups and Occupy Wall Street. We’re proud to be related to her.
