Happy Mother’s Day!
According to Moonalice legend, Moonalice first played in Union Square in July 2007, less than three months after the band’s first live show. Gavin Newsom was San Francisco’s mayor then. Our most recent gig here was the summer before covid. But this is our 54th concert in this venue. We wonder if anyone has played here more than that.
To commemorate this milestone, Chris Gallen created a poster that depicts how Union Square looked when we first played here. If you are high enough, you may recall that the park in those days was a geometric garden, with giant plants surrounding what is now the stage and the monument.
If you do not remember this, I strongly recommend a visit to the nearest dispensary to avail yourself of mass quantities of herbal entertainment.
