w/ New Riders of the Purple Sage
According to Moonalice legend, the New Riders of the Purple Sage have been around long enough that few in the tribe remember their forebears, the OLD Riders of the Purple Sage. As tonight's poster by Dennis Larkins shows, the Old Riders were a rowdy bunch of cowboys and cowgirls. They wore chaps and spurs. They rode horses and chased longhorns. They made fun of farming. But most of all, they drank like fish. Liquid refreshment was all they knew in the Old Riders, and it eventually led to their downfall. Just before harvest time in 1966, the Old Riders got drunk let their horses and cattle graze in the tribal fields ... The buds were magnificent and the Old Riders' livestock ate every one. By the next day, the Old Riders had been permanently retired ... The moral of the story, don't drink and drive cattle. Get high instead.
